About the Ministry

In December 2012, while in Addis Ababa to adopt their 3 sons, Tisha Alexander and her mother, Sheila, visited Korah. Korah is a community of 130,000 people that live on the outskirts of the city dump. Most of the people that live there are disabled or diseased. All are living in the deepest poverty and considered outcasts from society. God used this experience to impact Tisha in a life-changing way. She spoke with Pastor Tesfaye, who works, lives, and ministers within the Korah community. Tisha asked him what she could do to help – if there was anything that could be done. His response was simple: Find sponsors for our families. Ever since that moment, Tisha and her husband, Monte, have been single-minded in doing just that.

A Heart for Korah was born from walking amid the people of Korah, seeing their need, and knowing that there was something that we could do.

Our Mission Statement

To demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ to the people of Ethiopia and primarily Korah through outreach programs designed to support families, economic means, Christian education, and community development.

Our Motivation

“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly, defend the rights of the poor and needy.” Proverbs 31:8-9
